Professor Sunitha Narendran
Head, Department of Business
Sunitha is the Head of one of the largest academic Departments at the University of East London (UEL), responsible for UG and PG education in all areas of Business Management such as Accounting, Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, HRM, Marketing, Operations & Supply Chain and Strategy.
Sunitha joined UEL in 2016, as Professor and Director of Research and became Head of the Department of Business in 2017 having previously worked at Kingston University as Head of the Department of Management.
Sunitha moved into academe from professional practice in HR. Her international experience includes academic and leadership roles at the National University of Singapore; MARA in Malaysia and St. Josephs College, Bangalore, India. She is currently a Visiting Professor at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, in Guangzhou, China.

Sunitha’s research seeks to understand how individual differences and social contexts influence risk related decision making and performance. Sunitha has extensive research and consultancy experience within and outside the UK. In addition to reviewing papers and membership of editorial boards for Scholarly and Practitioner Journals, she is also a reviewer for the RCUK.
