Paul’s early career was in the field of Biomedical Science and Microbrewing but he found his true calling when he started to work with Digital Fabrication. He was trained as a CAD (Rhino and Grasshopper) tutor and from here expanded his skills taking on a series of freelance jobs in training and product design. Paul gained a Diploma from ‘FabAcademy ’ where he learnt different digital and analogue fabrication techniques and electronic prototyping. His freelance work moved into production of several commercial projects using Digital Fabrication.
Paul enjoys working
in ways that are collaborative and exploratory. He strives to recreate this
approach in the UEL workshops. Coming from a
scientific background, he finds his mind works in a different way to others
with a creative training. Working with students across ACE and collaborating on
developing new techniques with other technicians leads to multiple inputs and ideas to play with. All this keeps him on his
toes and motivated.
