Naz is Senior Lecturer in Events and Leisure Management, Course Leader for MSc Sports Management and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has over fifteen years’ experience of working in higher education teaching and research in the areas of events, hospitality, sport and tourism studies. She has received recognition for her Careers-Led Teaching and Learning (University of East London, 2020) and Innovative Teaching (University of East London, 2019). Naz is part of several initiatives across the University of East London that aim to promote health gain, learning gain and career gain through sport and physical activity.
She has held positions at the University of Bedfordshire, Staffordshire University and University of West London teaching across a portfolio of courses in events, hospitality, sport and tourism management. Naz is a Sociologist, and a member of the British Sociological Association (BSA), with interests in culture, ethnicity, race, religion and diasporas in the realm of sociology of events, sport and tourism. Her other research interests focus on qualitative research philosophies, principles and practices. Naz has published in areas of identity, migration, and researcher reflexivity. Naz is REF Impact Case Study Co-ordinator and Business Research Impact Champion in the School of Business and Law.
