Ms Amelia Albert

Senior Lecturer

    Amelia began her career as a secondary school Modern Languages teacher. She taught in inner city secondary schools for 12 years before coming into initial teacher training. Amelia has worked as a Head of Faculty and Head of Year in London schools then as an Assistant Head teacher in a secondary school in Hackney.

    Amelia has been involved with creating and delivering consultancy and INSET support to partnership schools for the promote of Primary Modern Languages.  Amelia helps partnership schools deliver CPD in the area of Primary Modern Languages.


    Amelia's current research interests are Primary modern Language development and the impact of new National Curriculum guidelines on provision. Amelia is also interested in training non-specialist teachers in Primary Languages and the impact they have on the classroom experience.

    Amelia’s interests are centred on second language acquisition in students and the growth of modern languages in the UK primary sector. Amelia is an active member on various Primary Languages Forums and local partnership hubs.
