Unrivalled success

In 2010, the University of East London was ranked 124th in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league – the National Governing Body for University Sport. With only a handful of teams and no medallists, East London Sport was created. Since then we have won the BUCS Most Improved University for Sports, and increased our ranking 81 positions in the BUCS ranking.

We have also helped develop nine Olympians/ Paralympians, 34 teams across a wide range of sports and 500+ active students. Make the most of the opportunities available to you here at East London Sport.

We aim to create an environment that enables you to flourish.

Studying at the University of East London has been life changing. With its outstanding support, my opportunities have skyrocketed. Since I started here, I have attended the Junior and Senior Commonwealth games, and three junior world cups.

Unique partnerships

The achievements and developments within sport at the University of East London over the last six years has been largely influenced by our large range of partnerships. At the university, we believe in working in collaboration and utilising the assets, strengths and networks of partners from across the UK.

We partner with many professional, amateur and community sports clubs alongside a wide and varied network of associations, such as national governing bodies of sport, sports foundations, charities and businesses.
