Volleyball at UEL

Our team has a wealth of experience with a number of NVL Super League players, NCAA experience from some of our US players and some with international experience at youth and senior levels.

The programme attracts some of the country’s best players to the nation’s capital who gain access to an elite programme of coaching and support.

Both the Men’s and Women’s programmes consistently finish in the top 5 in the country with the programme supporting both Indoor and Beach Volleyball throughout the year.

The programme has also allowed our best male and female players to compete internationally in tournaments such as the 2018 EUSA European University Beach Volleyball championships in Portugal, following them winning their respective student cup competitions.

UEL’s commitment to player development have led to the University achieving Volleyball England senior academy status with a number of players gaining professional contracts overseas upon graduation. Our partnership with Malory Eagles allow players to also compete in the Volleyball England Superleague.

The teams have NCAA Division 1 Championship winning players from Long Beach state, plus many players with NCAA division 1 and 2 experience. There is former senior international players who have represented Bulgaria and Romania at Indoor and Beach volleyball respectively, plus former cadet England players.

Volleyball players high-fiving each other.

London

London may be steeped in history but it’s also a rapidly changing city at the cutting edge of business, science and art.

We are the world’s No 1 city for foreign companies expanding their businesses, and we have three times more European multinational headquarters than any other European city. It means there are rich opportunities for work placements and internships.

London is a city that offers something for everyone – iconic buildings and monuments, world-renowned galleries and museums, famous sports venues and theatres, well-known shopping districts and a vast choice of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets.

All this will be right on your doorstep if you study at the University of East London. Central London is less than half an hour away from our two campuses by public transport – or just seven minutes if you travel by high-speed rail from Stratford.

Coming from the United States, its encouraging to see UEL providing its athletes with a top of the line facility & training support to allow them to excel. The environment allows international student-athletes to continue to grow physically and academically.
