Our rowing club

The UEL Boat Club (UELBC)  is constantly growing and strives to recruit new members each academic year. The club provides opportunities for all members whether you are a complete beginner, novice, intermediate or high-performance rower. With the club’s successful ‘Learn 2 Row’ programme you are sure to receive professional and tailored training regimes based on each squad’s ability.

UELBC compete and excel in BUCS across a variety of competitions throughout each academic year including; Indoor Championships, Small Boats Head, 4’s & 8’s Head and the Regatta. If you’re not a power rower, the club is always looking for people to cox, blog, write race reports and join the committee.

Vastly experienced coach, Fred Badowski, joined UELBC as Head Coach in early 2015. As former Chief Coach of Exeter University Boat Club (EUBC) and most recently London Oratory Boat Club (LOSBC) he has achieved numerous medals throughout his career taking boats to win silver at the Coupe de Jeunesse, gold in the Home Countries Regatta and gold at the National Championships as well as supporting a number of crews with their journey to Henley finals. Fred is a charismatic and motivating coach that UELBC feels very proud to have supporting them, he has brought his determination and drive to members of the club which has only boosted the unity between its members.

The access to facilities and training you receive as a UELBC member are second to none.
