Our judo club

Judo is a form of self-defence which includes powerful throws, arm locks and ground fighting. Originating in Japan, judo is great exercise and excellent for developing stamina, power and flexibility.

Our sessions are open to all, irrespective of size, weight, gender or grade. The Club is coached by Level 3 coach, Darren Hawney, who has experience working with the GB Olympic team and coaches.

The Judo Club continues to build as we work towards becoming one of the largest and most successful clubs at UEL.

The Judo Club train at SportsDock, located at our Docklands campus. Our large training venue can comfortably hold up to 20 people per Judo session.

Training takes place every Thursday at 7:30-9pm at SportsDock.
