What we're researching

International business provides a fertile ground for research. Our staff have a variety of interests that inform their teaching. As a postgraduate student you’ll benefit from the latest thinking and trends.

Our staff publish books and academic papers, present at conferences and use their expertise to act as external examiners for other institutions. Staff research interests include corporate strategy, branding, leadership development, supply chain strategy, consumer behaviour, events management and entrepreneurship.

For example, Adrian Haberberg is a former management consultant with research interests that include strategic decision making and social responsibility. He is author of Strategic Management: Theory and Application.

Andy Stevens worked for 15 years in sports management, including a period with the Football Association. His research interests include sport events, operations and marketing management and the development of grass roots sport.

Rula Al-Abdulrazak researches the branding and marketing of nation states and national identity.

Dr Phil Clark, Head of International Business Management, worked in the car and motorcycle industry for 16 years before embarking on an academic career. Phil’s research interests include global co-ordination in the car industry, supply chain management and the political economy of Japan.
