Part of the teaching process involves exploring genetic algorithms by developing a personal approach based on a supplied skeleton code in AutoCAD VBA or Rhinoscript. 

By substituting different kinds of parameters and recoding students develop their own outcomes. After a successful evolution, the fittest object is sent to the FabPad (rapid prototyping and fabrication unit at UEL) for realisation. 

Lessons learnt from this process – did it fall apart, or fail to be manufactured in other ways- are fed back into the loop when the students recode their VBA to avoid these problems. The images show the work of Renee Pussep.
