Matthew Whyte - Research Development Co-Ordinator

Matthew joined the ReDS team in July 2014 and is responsible for supporting academics in the development of externally funded research projects. Before coming to UEL, Matthew worked in Research Management & Administration at the University of the Arts London, providing pre and post award support for research grants, including bid development, costing and reporting. He first started working in Research Support in 2003 at Camberwell College of Arts. He has a degree in English & History from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Simon Mather - Research Funding Officer

Simon is responsible for supporting academics in the development and submission processes of research funding applications. He also updates the UEL Research Funding blog, which includes searching for funding opportunities, and supports staff with external funding contracts.
Before joining UEL, Simon was a Research Officer at the Medical Research Council for over 20 years, primarily working on the Research Boards and the JeS system.
Chiraag Gandecha - Post-Award Project Manager

Chiraag is primarily responsible for providing post award support to academics across the term of their projects. He also will help to ensure deliverables are understood by the academics and delivered promptly to the standard required by the funders.
Before joining UEL, Chiraag worked at Imperial College London in the Research Audit and Assurance team, managing the audit process for large-scale FP7 projects.
Sidrah Tabbasum Hussain - Research Funding Administrator

Sidrah joined the ReDS team in April 2016 and is responsible for post award project management including timesheet tracking, main administrative procedures as well as managing project deliverables to ensure they are being completed as required. She also assists with completing funding searches for academics.
She completed her Bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Greenwich, London.
