The Cass School of Education and Communities is an international centre of excellence for teacher education and professional development. The School houses three innovative and multidisciplinary research centres: the International Centre for Public Pedagogy, the International Centre for the Mixed Economy of Childcare and the Centre for Social Work Research.  Our staff can support you in a variety of topics including teacher education, public pedagogy, comparative education, professional development, early childhood, prison education, social work and youth work.

Seminars, workshops, courses and the opportunity to attend conferences form part of the doctoral experience at the Cass School of Education and Communities.   We encourage you to publish (we have our own open access journal Research in Teacher Education) and present papers at conferences and seminars at this university and further afield.  With a brand new library, dedicated study space and a team of enthusiastic and dedicated doctoral supervisors your research trajectory is in safe hands.   Our Graduate School offers a wide range of dedicated research skills training and all doctoral students are invited to attend our Saturday sessions throughout the year on educational theory, research methodology, educational policy and practice.
