What do I need to know before I arrive?

Where does my interview take place?
All interviews take place at the School of Psychology on the Stratford University of East London campus. The address is:

On arrival, you should report to the security reception desk in the Conference and Computing Centre.

What does the interview day involve?
The interview day will also enable you to acquire full knowledge of the programme at UEL, placement requirements and current professional registration guidelines and there will be ample opportunity for you to ask questions about the programme. As you may be aware successful completion of the programme will enable you to apply to register with the British Psychological Society as a Chartered Psychologist (BPS) and with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Please read through the HCPC document Guidance on Health and Character available on their website.
Who will be conducting the interview?
You will be interviewed by two lecturers from the programme.
What should I bring with me?
Please bring with you your degree and any other relevant qualifications/certificate/s evidence of GBC and a recent passport size photo.
Please note that the interview process may take a few hours and will include a presentation of the programme, a task carried out in a small group, an individual interview with two members of the course team and a short reflective written exercise. You will need to be prepared to discuss your clinical and research experience.
How will I know if I have been successful in my application?
You will be sent an email from our Admissions Office who will contact you to advise you of the decision. If you are offered a place you will be required to complete a health declaration and a Disclosure and Barring (DBS) service check (formally CRB).
What happens after I am offered a place and before I start my course?
Although teaching officially starts in September we will be in touch before this date to invite you in to meet the cohort and members of the programme team.
During the time before enrolment we will be in touch to organise the clinical documentation required before you start the programme. We will also provide you with reading lists, and other useful documentation that you will need in preparation for your start date.
