How you'll learn

When not attending timetabled lectures or workshops, you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. This will typically involve skills development through online study, reading journal articles and books, working on individual and group projects and preparing coursework assignments and presentations. Your independent learning is supported by a range of excellent facilities including online resources, specialist facilities, such as game labs, the library, the full Microsoft Office software, including MS Teams, and Moodle: our Virtual Learning Environment.

Teaching and support

As a postgraduate student, you will be expected to conduct independent work and research, supported by our experienced academics. We will provide you with the tools and methods, including an online portal, to access business databases, real projects/industry cases, and other study sources.

Alongside private study, you will have plenty of contact with our team of lecturers with special expertise in project management, and learning through a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops, and guest speakers. The global business world thinks in project terms, and so do we.

Expert-led research

Our staff's practice and research feed organically into their teaching. For example, The Course Leader, Dr Manish Unhale holds professional qualifications (PRINCE 2 Agile Practitioner) in project management and his research work includes collaborations in supply chain and sustainability. Dr Shazaib’s area of research is the global banking and finance system and Molly’s expertise in Project and Supply Chains. We also have other practitioners from project management who guide and supervise our students in research areas related to project management.

How does this benefit you? Great careers are built on real-world projects and a wide portfolio of relevant experience related to managing international projects. Nothing is more important than having academics who are experts in project management, and international business and genuinely interested in your student journey. We run a personal tutoring scheme and compile business projects and case studies from the industry. We also provide you with a number of business development support services via the Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability. Employability is more than a buzzword - we directly provide you with networking opportunities that connect to the modules you’re actually studying, and tangibly prepare you for your next career steps. We have successfully organised and hosted project management experts to speak to our students and provided networking opportunities to our students with them.
