What you'll learn

You'll understand the importance of Industry 4.0 and FinTech in the current business environment.  You will gain a thorough understanding of the assumptions, logical structure, and limitations of business, management, and marketing concepts, theories, and ideas. Explore the management of finance, including the use of accounting and other information systems for managerial applications. 

Reflect on the importance of technological innovations in the current age and time. Develop critical thinking skills to evaluate the relevance of diverse business and management theories and concepts. Apply these theories and concepts to various issues and contexts. 

Subject-based practical skills will teach you how to identify the internal and external sources of Big Data and strategic information required for modelling organisational performance. You'll demonstrate an advanced critical understanding of current issues relevant to the fintech industry. 

The programme will also offer you an optional placement year, enabling you to gain fintech management experience and effectively connect your university experience with it.

We consistently review and develop our courses and modules to ensure they are up-to-date with sector and industry graduate skills demands. Course structure, modules, and options are subject to change.

How you'll learn

You are able to move from full-time to part-time study and vice-versa to accommodate any external factors such as financial constraints or domestic commitments. Many of our students make use of this flexibility and this may impact the overall duration of their study period. 

Knowledge is developed through guided reading, knowledge-based activities with feedback, and online discussions and activities. Thinking skills are developed through reflective activities with feedback and online discussions and activities. 

Practical skills are developed through IT activities with feedback and research skills-based activities with feedback. Skills for life and work (general skills) are developed through planning activities with feedback and project work.

Students on the MBA (FinTech) with Placement route will be expected to undertake a 30-week work placement. The placement is worth an additional 120 credits. UEL will assist you in finding a placement and will advertise opportunities on the UEL Employment Hub. However, it is ultimately the student's responsibility to source a valid placement. Further details on placement are contained in the placement handbook.
