What we're researching

XSXL: How a small change can lead to maximum impact? How do design interventions change our lives for the better?

How is design informing and informed by the changes in the contemporary world? How does the design of the high street change in the era of online shopping? How does the design of the bookstore change in the era of e-books? How is the notion of experience re-addressed today by contemporary design strategies?

Design and Wellbeing: How do advancements in other disciplines (neuroscience, cognitive psychology, etc.) inform the interior design disciplines? How can cross-disciplinary research and interior design projects address the issue of health and well-being in the contemporary city?

Through contacts with external organisations, we promote and conduct research along the above range of questions. The Museum of Architecture, the Museum of London, ARUP, and other external partners have supported our relevant research and ongoing projects.

The programme is designed and taught by a team of distinct academics and designers, including Dr Anastasia Karandinou and Rashid Ali.
