A revolution is taking place in equality and diversity strategies, personal attitudes, behaviour thresholds and organisational activity affecting gender, race, equality and ethnicity. GED provides the largest video and podcast platform for updating research and managerial knowledge in the field. Understanding, measuring, analysing and responding with solutions to that change will continue at pace in 2018.
The GED programme was one of the first to identify the power of transparency and new data. GED is tracking, publishing, cataloguing and celebrating insight, innovation and achievement throughout the year online and at the major GED Conference and Awards on Thursday 22 November 2018.
Topics covered will include:
Creating inclusive business models for staff and clients
Benchmarking 'improving diversity and inclusion' in different industries
Adapting to new transparency legislation impacts
Case studies of staff and service processes and policies which are providing measurable progress
Research insights into trends in equality, diversity and inclusion practice, in the UK or internationally
Case studies of the challenges related to devising and implementing equality, inclusion and diversity policy in organisations
Public and big data sets, benchmarks and metrics to inform policy and practice in service and goods delivery
Understanding how individuals perceive and respond to equality, inclusion and diversity measures in their own workplace
Introducing GED Bright Sparks - Moments of Insight and Ignition
15 minute presentations setting out a key insight, research conclusion or management action
Through our combination of debate, workshop, case studies and Bright Sparks stages, GED will showcase and bring recognition to the best in personnel development, organisation transformation and research.
Industry sectors are coming under differentiated scrutiny with new published data, such as the youth and male bias in new media and computing, the gender predominance of women in caring sectors, the gender predominance of men in finance and banking and the pay gap and promotion issues.
Every month, GED will hold Studio sessions on sector issues, best practice and the dilemmas of managing change to keep you up to date with developments and solutions.
GED 2018 studios will particularly, but not exclusively, examine the following themes:
New media and online organisations
Social care and nursing
Hospitality and tourism
The legal profession
Finance and banking
Technology and telecoms
Manufacturing and transport
All of which present different transparency and inclusion challenges, many needing differing solutions.
All presentations, filmed and also hosted online after the event, help create a unique digital library of professional development material in this fast developing discipline.
Every participant will have access to the library to share with their colleagues.
