Orange County Sustainability Decathlon
Orange County Sustainability Decathlon
Project aims
The project aims to design and build an Affordable Prefabricated Carbon Neutral House in California, Orange County as a collaboration between the University of East London, Tongji University (China) and Laguna College of Art and Design (USA) at Sustainability Decathlon.
Eighteen teams have been selected and each will receive $100,000 to help fund the project. The project brings bold and inventive ideas that are carbon-neutral, resilient, water and energy-efficient, and affordable to be designed, built, and marketed. The homes will be displayed in October 2023 in a Solar Village which will be open to the public.
"OCSD23 is a new competition that challenges teams to design, build, and market innovative model homes that demonstrate a range of solutions to some of California’s most urgent problems."
