UEL reaches finals of prestigious industry marketing awards
Recognition for rebranding of University
The University of East London is celebrating after making the final shortlist for Marketing Team of the Year award at the prestigious Marketing Excellence Awards among several globally recognised brands.
The nomination recognises the significant efforts in its strategic marketing efforts which was underpinned by the university’s mission and vision. The submitted entry was a rebrand of the entire university, a project that involved a new visual identity and the creation of inspiring authentic messages and story-telling – all to a range of different stakeholders via multiple platforms to achieve multiple institutional priorities.
The aim was to encapsulate the values and energy of the University’s forward-thinking Vision 2028 transformation strategy and stabilise and increase its market share in the student recruitment market.
Vanessa Varvas, chief marketing officer, said, “We are so honoured to have been shortlisted, amongst so many recognised global brands, for the industry Chartered Institute of Marketing awards as ‘Marketing Team of the Year Award’ and being recognised that our marketing approach is closely linked to our mission and vision.
“This approach was facilitated by team integration and collaboration across the university, our student body and the community!
“To be shortlisted for this award is well-deserved not only for the team but for the university as it showcases who we are and what we stand for. Congratulations to all organisations shortlisted today!”
The honour follows on from the title Marketing Team of the Year which the University secured at the 2020 HEIST Awards for the innovative #Bethenext campaign.
