UEL on the rise again in Complete University Guide

University’s ranking has improved for the second year in a row, replicating progress in other national rankings

The University of East London (UEL) has improved its overall ranking in the Complete University Guide for the second successive year after rising five places in the 2019 table.

The latest Guide, published today, also shows that UEL is ranked second among all 22 higher education institutions in London for student satisfaction, while its social work programme is ranked second in the capital.

Following a 12-place rise in the previous year’s Guide, the statistics for 2019 confirm that UEL is continuing to make positive progress – as evidenced by a range of other national league tables.

Only last month, the University was singled out as the UK’s most improved university over the past decade in the influential Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey.

UEL has also risen 79 places in the last two years in the National Student Survey for overall student satisfaction.

Dean Curtis, UEL’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, said, “It is very encouraging to see UEL continue its upward trend in the Complete University Guide, which is something we are replicating across a range of higher education rankings.

“It is especially satisfying to see that our students are among the happiest in London. This is testimony to the hard work staff have put in to improve our students’ experience at UEL.”
