Fashion alumna Krasimira Stoyneva’s jacket appears before millions on The X Factor

Jacket is from designer’s London Fashion Week 2017 collection

University of East London (UEL) fashion design alumna Krasimira Stoyneva scored a major success recently when The X Factor contestant Grace Davies wore Krasimira’s synthetic hair jacket before an audience of millions on the ITV talent show.

Davies wore the swingy, multi-coloured jacket during her rendition of Ann-Marie’s ‘Ciao Adios’.

The show’s stylist told Krasimira that Davies would be wearing the jacket just minutes before Davies’ performance.

Krasimira said, “It felt brilliant. I could see the excitement in my kids, the proudness in my family. My phone started ringing like crazy. It was very emotional.

“The stylist chose very well. Considering the song and the styling of the song, the colourfulness of my jacket was needed. I think it was a great choice.”

Krasimira was asked by The X Factor’s style team to provide the show with some options from her London Fashion Week 2017 collection. Krasimira previously worked with the team to provide clothing for the Brit Awards, though that particular opportunity did not pan out.

The stylists, The Square Division, have worked with celebrities including Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Britney Spears.

Krasimira said, “I feel really honoured to have been their choice.”

Krasimira’s London Fashion Week 2017 collection appeared on Fashion Scout’s prestigious ‘Ones to Watch’ catwalk. Her signature material is synthetic hair, which she describes as a luxurious alternative to fur. Her motto is ‘wear hair, not fur’.

Since graduating from UEL in 2014 with a BA honours degree in Fashion Design, the mother of two, who lives in Enfield, has managed the Fashion Hub, a work space at UEL’s Knowledge Dock building, while working on her fashion label, Krasimira Stoyneva.

Her accolades include winning the prestigious Muuse x Vogue Talents Young Vision Award, which resulted in her clothes appearing in Vogue Italia. She has also caught the attention of media outlets and celebrities. Famous Polish singer Margaret wore one of her jackets at a 2016 New Year’s Eve celebration.
