UEL Terrorism and Extremism Research centre launches new book series

The Centre has partnered with I.B. Tauris

UEL's Terrorism and Extremism Research Centre (TERC) at the University of East London (UEL) has announced it is launching a new book series with publishers I.B Tauris.

The series will be called Terrorism and Extremism Studies. The series will be interdisciplinary, encompassing politics and international relations, law and criminology, education, psychology, human rights and post-conflict studies.

Books in the series will analyse both the act of terrorism itself and the motivations and rationale of the terrorist actor. They will also consider international counter-terrorist policies, tactics and strategies. Key areas of focus will include:

  • conceptual issues and discourses of terrorism, radicalisation, extremism, and counter-terrorism,
  • regional and group studies relating to terrorism and counter-terrorism
  • he psychology of terrorism and counter-terrorism
  • the role of civil society in counter-terrorism and counter-extremism
  • innovations in terrorism and counter-terrorism research

The series will be edited by TERC director Dr John F. Morrison, and TERC fellows Professor Andrew Silke and Dr Anthony Richards.

Titles in the series will be marketed globally, including at major conferences across the world. Each book will be subjected to a rigorous peer-review process and will be published in hardback – with bespoke packaging and full-colour cover – and, simultaneously, as an e-book.
