Research undertaken into the area of bio material fabrication technologies and natural dyes in relation to textiles. Exploring new sustainable material possibilities involved working with bio materials such as fungi, seaweed and food waste. Methods explored include the creation of a bio leather laser etched bag, 3d printed threads, woven bio plastic fabric and naturally dyed and printed silks. This research, along with the development of the natural dye garden has become an important new resource and a key part of the fashion curriculum.
