What is/was your overall experience as an international student studying at UEL?
My name is Ronit Dusara and I’m from Tanzania, I’m currently studying BSc (Hons) Business Management at UEL; my experience as an international student has been incredibly rewarding.
The Career Zone has been a fantastic resource for my development. It has helped me build a strong CV, provided mock interviews to boost my confidence, and opened my eyes to new career opportunities. I believe that using these services can help other students better understand their potential and effectively plan their careers.

Tell us about a project you are most proud of during your study at UEL? Any other achievements?
One project I’m particularly proud of was where I presented on AI and explored its potential impact on our lives. The positive feedback from our lecturers improved my research and presentation skills.
Making new friends on campus has been key to my success. UEL hosts numerous events that facilitate connections among students, allowing us to build a supportive network. Having this community has made my time here more enjoyable and has kept me motivated throughout my studies.
What are your plans after graduation? If you have graduated, can you tell us more about what you are currently doing?
I plan to start my career as a business analyst to develop my skills further, and from there, I look forward to either stepping into a top managerial position or starting my own business. UEL has been incredibly supportive in this journey, offering enterprise workshops and a mentorship programme. These resources connect us with mentors who guide us through our professional journey and help us build the skills needed for success in entrepreneurial roles.
What advice would you give to prospective international students planning to study in the UK (with UEL)?
My advice to prospective international students is to be open to new experiences and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. Whether it’s joining a club, attending workshops, or volunteering, these experiences will help you grow both personally and professionally.
While studying should always be your top priority, don't underestimate the value of getting involved in university life. UEL offers a diverse range of clubs and societies, from sports to cultural groups, all of which can help you build lasting friendships and broaden your horizons.
