Entry requirements
Undergraduate
- Students must have completed the Canadian High School Diploma. Most courses require an overall score of between 65 and 75% overall or five B’s in five grade 12 subjects. For further details relating to each Province
- Canadian High School Equivalency Diplomas and General Educational Development (GED) can also be considered. GED requirement is to pass the 5 test battery with 2250 overall and each area higher than 450) AND SAT 1600 over 3 components (old scheme) or 1070 (new scheme)
- Home Schooled Applicants: Grade 12 graduation with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (C+) calculated on five grade 12 courses that are equivalent to British Columbia and Yukon requirements, including senior level English with a minimum grade of C and SAT 1600 over 3 components (old scheme) or 1070 (new scheme)
- Adult Basic Education (Level III) Graduation with General College Profile (Or Business-Related College Profile or Degree and Technical Profile)
- A certificate from a recognised college of the Province (such as the College of The North Atlantic, Newfoundland and Labrador, which also has campus in Qatar)
- Fraser International College (FIC) – University Transfer programme Stage 1 (a minimum of 30 credits) with a good pass (B-, GPA 2.67) – or similar pathway programme from a recognised university – check grading tables below
- A 1 year Certificate programme from a recognised Ontario HE College with a CGPA 3.0 or 70%
Postgraduate
- A 4 year bachelor’s (Honours) degree
- A 3 or 4 year bachelor’s degree from Québec
- A 4 year ordinary degree from a Province other than Québec where Honours is a reflection of attainment of high mark rather than an additional year
- A bachelor’s Advanced degree
- Ontario College/University Graduate Certificate or Diploma
Accepted English Language Qualifications
Students who took their qualifications in Québec are required to meet our standard English language requirements except for students who have studied at an English CEGEP and who have passed the Ministerial Examination of College English (the English Exit Exam). To pass students must obtain a Grade C or above in English 603 series: 603-101; 603-102; 603-103). Exemption may also be considered for students who studied at degree level in English in a Québecois University.
English language requirements
To study at UEL you must demonstrate that your English level is at the standard for university study. We accept a number of different English language qualifications/tests for entry onto our courses, with IELTS being the most common.
