Entry requirements
Undergraduate
Students must have passed one of the following:
- A Levels with the equivalent UCAS tariff points
- US High School Diploma and SAT composite score or ACT, AP equivalent
- Diploma / Leaving Certificate from a 13-year International School with satisfactory grades (since
grading systems vary, diplomas will be considered on a case-by-case basis – ‘International School
Diplomas in the Global qualifications section) - A University Diploma or other recognised 1-year certificate or diploma course
- Associate Degree from the American University in Dubai
- The first year of a recognised degree with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (if CGPA not
stated: the descriptor ‘good’ is generally acceptable.) - A recognised International Foundation course
Postgraduate
Students must hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (if CGPA not
stated: “good” is generally acceptable.)

English Language Requirements are not needed from Degree Holders from the Following Universities
- American University of Dubai
- American University of Sharjah
- American University of Ras Al-Khaimah
- American University of the Emirates
Note: The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) offer a 4-year degree (taken over 3 on the trim
trimester system) which is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Dubai and accepted for
a master's in Australia without doing an Honours Year. This can be considered for PG entry, but candidates
would need to request a letter of weighted average.
English language requirements
To study at UEL you must demonstrate that your English level is at the standard for university study. We accept a number of different English language qualifications/tests for entry onto our courses, with IELTS being the most common.
