ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
For detailed information on entry requirements for all UEL courses, please see our course pages. For location-specific please go to our Regions section and select your location. We accept country qualifications at the appropriate level and also take any relevant work experience into account when considering an application. The standard of your application form, including your personal statement, is also important.
Undergraduate
We accept several International qualifications equivalent to the standard UK undergraduate requirements. For most countries, this is equivalent to 12 / 13 years of High School / Secondary School education. Some courses require you to have subject-specific subjects or submit a portfolio / attend an interview/test - Please check your region page for specific entry requirements.
Applicants must have a qualification from a recognised institution or awarding body.
English language requirements
We accept a range of English language qualifications. English language requirements vary slightly from course to course - Please see our English language requirements page for further information.

Postgraduate
We accept a number of International qualifications equivalent to a minimum of a Lower Second Class classification (2:2) from an undergraduate degree or equivalent from your country.
Applicants must have a qualification from a recognised institution or awarding body.
English language requirements

VISAS
If you are not a citizen of a European Economic Area member state, it is compulsory to apply for and obtain a Tier 4 General Student visa to come to the UK for a course of study of longer than six months. If you are a citizen of Visa required country you will need to apply for and obtain a visa to come to the UK and study at UEL for courses of any length. However, if you are a citizen of a Non-Visa country and you are coming to study a short course of less than six months it is not compulsory that you apply for a visa to enter the UK, instead, you can enter the UK as a Student Visitor. What are the undergraduate entry requirements?
We accept many international qualifications that are equivalent to UK undergraduate entry. For most countries, this means 12 or 13 years of high school or secondary education. Some courses also ask for specific subjects, a portfolio or an interview/test. Check your country page and course page for details.
What are the postgraduate entry requirements?
We accept international qualifications equivalent to at least a UK lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree. Your country page explains the local equivalent we look for.
Do my qualifications need to be from a recognised institution?
Yes. For both undergraduate and postgraduate study, your qualification must come from a recognised institution or awarding body.
What if I have a different qualification or I’m not sure I meet the entry requirements?
We consider relevant work experience and other qualifications alongside your application. If you are unsure, contact the International Office or your regional team for advice before you apply.
