Entry requirements
Undergraduate
To apply for undergraduate study, you must complete the Egzamin Maturalny (Matura) and receive the Świadectwo dojrzałości (Maturity Certificate).
New Matura (Nowa Matura – from 2005)
You will usually need:
- At least two subjects at extended level with a minimum of 40 per cent in each
- At least one subject at basic level with a minimum of 60 per cent
- Extended and basic subjects must be in different subjects
- Language subjects include written and oral exams, which may be taken at different levels
Some courses may have additional subject requirements.
Old Matura
You will usually need:
- At least five exam subjects, including written (pisemny) and oral (ustny) exams
- A minimum grade of 3 (Dostateczny) in each subject
- An overall average of 4 (Dobry) or above
The grading scale runs from one to six, where two is a pass and six is the highest grade
Or
- Pass Ddyplom potwierdzajacy kwalifikacje zawodowe Technical School Diploma confirming
vocational qualifications PLUS relevant work experience can be considered for related
programmes
Postgraduate
- Students must hold a Licencjat bachelor’s degree (post 2003) with a grade of
C/4 (dobry) or above
Accepted English Language Qualifications
- IELTS Academic
- TOEFL iBT
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) PTE Academic
- Oxford International English Test (OIETC)
English language requirements
To study at the University of East London (UEL), you must show that your English language level is suitable for university study.
We accept a range of English language tests, including:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE)
You may not need to take an English test if you have completed the Matura (extended level English) with:
- At least 70 per cent in the written exam
- At least 70 per cent in the oral exam
