Entry Requirements
Undergraduate
Students must have one of the following:
- An Ordinary National Diploma (minimum second class lower)
- Until 1996: WAEC A levels (3 grades at C or above)
- Year 1 (level 100) of a relevant degree from a recognised university
- Bachelor of Technology (BTech) from a Polytechnic (18-month programme)
- A recognised International Foundation course
Postgraduate
Students must have one of the following:
- Bachelor’s (Honours) degree with a minimum second class lower
- Postgraduate Diploma
English language requirements
To study at UEL you must demonstrate that your English level is at the standard for university study. We accept a number of different English language qualifications/tests for entry onto our courses, with IELTS being the most common.

- Grade C6 or above in Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) in English
- IELTS
- TOEFL IBT
- Pearson Test of English (PTE)
- Oxford International English Test (OIETC)
