All UEL students and staff welcome!

Thursday April 27, 5-6 pm

With Dr Iwa Salami, UEL senior lecturer in Financial Law and Regulation

Discussion chair: Dr Hammad Hussain

The price of Bitcoin since May 2020 has seen an increase of nearly 300%. The impact of the pandemic on traditional financial assets; investment by institutional investors; and increased interest among high net worth entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk, have all contributed to this rise. But is this a bubble waiting to burst? And could these activities have possible implications for financial stability? Should concrete regulation be put in place and can this, in fact be achieved?
