About this event

In good times, small businesses suffer financial challenges such as managing cash flows, managing receivables and payables, sticking to budgets, marketing challenges, lack of capital and unforeseen expenses.

These business finance challenges are not only complex and ever-changing, they are at the root of success or failure of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

A good financial management system can keep a business running, while too many financial hardships can cause even the most pristine machine to sputter and stall out. The significant market dislocation brought about by Covid-19 is likely to result in SMEs being disadvantaged, especially if they are unable to quickly adapt to sudden drastic changes in the external environment.

This webinar on managing finances on managing finances during the COVID-19 era will attempt to answer the following questions:

  1. How can SMEs manage cash flows including receivables and payables in periods of uncertainty?
  2. What are the avenues for raising short-term, medium-term and long-term finances and their accompanying merits and demerits?
  3. What government supports are available during the COVID-19 era, and how effective are they?
  4. How can the UEL Tax Clinic be of help to SMEs?
