Rise Above the Machines: Core Skills for Workplace 4.0

Rise Above the Machines

An engaging and insightful panel discussion will take place at the University of East London on Wednesday 4 March to help students understand how employers view industry 4.0.

The University implemented Vision 2028, a 10-year strategy to become the careers-led University which prepares our students for the jobs of the future. The panel discussion is one of the many ways the University is delivering its mission.

The world of work is changing, and the panel will discuss what can graduates and students do to equip themselves most effectively to thrive in this environment – to 'rise above the machines'? We are already witnessing the most competitive labour market conditions we have ever seen – so what does 'tech-awareness' add to the mix? What tools do students and graduates need to navigate this territory?

Some of the employers attending include:

  • Amazon
  • Microsoft
  • Evaluate Ltd
  • Woodcut Media

Students attending this event will benefit from the following:

  • Up-to-date insights and 'top-tips' on the critical skills and competences to evidence in your CV and/or portfolio of work
  • 'Words to the wise' on how Workplace 4.0 is shaping current and future recruitment processes, with particular reference to the role that cultivating connections and networks will play
  • Personal reflections on 'if I'd known then what I know now' –panellists on how they would approach career building if armed with their current knowledge but in the position of starting out

Tickets for the event are free and should be booked on the Employment Hub website.
