Refractions: An Afro-Caribbean Cabaret
UEL's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, in collaboration with Newham Council, celebrate Black History Month
We present a reflection on Afro-Caribbean culture, on themes such as being black in the context of healthcare, sexuality, beauty and relationships.
Expect a night of poetry, stand up and performance.
The event is FREE to attend.
Light food and drink will be provided, alongside traditional Afro-Caribbean snacks.
This event is a collaboration between the University of East London and Newham Council to celebrate Black History Month.
For those able, we will also be accepting donations of toiletries, clothing, toys and stationery. These will be donated to Solace Women's Aid, an organisation based in London, that works to end the harm caused by violence towards women and girls. They collect a variety of goods that are given to refugees and domestic violence victims.
