Global Policy Director, WaterAid.
‘The Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Crisis: Origins, Impacts and What To Do About It: A View From a Practitioner’’.
The lack of access to
clean household water, safe sanitation and hygiene practice is holding back
human and economic development for billions of people. What lies behind
this widespread failure? How can it be solved? This lecture considers
the history of WASH poverty and its epidemiological impacts. It looks at
some of the causes of “WASH poverty” and then provides an overview of some
research showing ways to overcome it.
Henry Northover is the Global Director of Policy for the international NGO WaterAid. WaterAid is the world’s largest INGO focused exclusively on water, sanitation and hygiene issues. It has direct service delivery and advocacy programmes in over 30 countries in the developing world. Henry leads a team of ten senior policy analysts and researchers.
