fUEL festival 2019: Emergence

Performing Arts

The fUEL festival 2019 - Emergence

EMERGENCE 2019 showcases socially engaged performances from BA Drama Applied Theatre and Performance students.

The performances are a mix of immersive multi-media environments, solo autobiographical stand-up, duets exploring the lost playfulness of childhood and interactive contemplations of social media obsession. Each piece is aimed at challenging the audience to consider the stories we tell to shape ourselves and each other.

The Drama, Applied Theatre and Performance programme produces exciting socially-engaged performances throughout the year. In addition, students work with professional companies and tour schools with performances and participatory workshops. Students develop a dynamic range of provocative and engaging work that leads to a range of new professional opportunities for our students.

Emergence is part fUEL festival, an annual showcase of the talented students who study in the University of East London’s Department of Music, Writing and Performance.

Our showcase last year was a sell-out and produced work which was subsequently produced professionally. We are anticipating high demand for both performances and encourage you to book your place through the links below:
