Debate on Electro-Convulsive Therapy 

Kings College London presents a debate about one of the most controversial areas in modern psychology - electro-convulsive therapy - "This house believes that ECT has no place in modern medicine." 

Proposed by Professor John Read, and seconded by Dr Sue Cunliff.

Arguing against is Professor Declan McLoughlin and Dr Sameer Jauhar. 

The debate will be chaired by Professor Khalida Ismail.

Professor Read has published several reviews of the ECT literature.

Dr Sue Cunliffe, who was a GP until she was incapacitated by ECT.
