2018 Learning and Teaching Symposium

2018 Learning and Teaching Symposium

The University of East London’s Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) and the Centre for Student Success (CfSS) are organising this year's Learning & Teaching Symposium: Inclusive Design, Inclusive Practice.

This interactive event will take place on Thursday 20 September at University Square Stratford and will be an excellent opportunity to take part in practical sessions and share best practice with colleagues. To register, please visit uelsymposium2018.eventbrite.co.uk

Our keynote speaker has been confirmed as Professor Dilly Fung, Pro-Director for Education at the LSE. Before taking this role she was Professor of Higher Education Development at UCL, directing the UCL Arena Centre for Research-based Education. A Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she had previously been a Senior Lecturer in Academic Practice and Head of Academic Development at the University of Exeter.

Drawing on her interdisciplinary roots in English, Politics, and Philosophy of Education, and on her long teaching career in FE and HE, Dilly's work focuses on the circle of scholarship that connects research, learning, engagement, and leadership of change.

Her recent open access monograph, A Connected Curriculum for Higher Education (Fung 2017), explores the unity of research and teaching and its application to the global common good, and she regularly speaks about these themes in the UK and internationally.

We will be live streaming throughout the day and posting updates on Twitter @UEL_CELT using #uelLTsymp18
