Sociology Live Class - December 2017

Experience a real Sociology class for yourself

Come experience a Sociology class at our Docklands campus on the 14th December.

This is a no frills event, there's no special effects or pomp -  we invite you to see what it's really like to study Sociology at UEL and experience why our students rated us 100% for student satisfaction. Come and join a real class full of our first year Sociology students and experience a lecture by Dr Eric Woods, the BA Sociology programme leader. The theme of the lecture is Nationalism.

"Nationalism is one the most powerful ideologies in the modern world. It is so powerful that many people are willing to die in the defence of their 'nation'. Why is this case? What does it mean when someone says they are English, Scottish, Indian, Nigerian or Chinese? Where did these national identities come from? In this lecture, we will try to answer these important questions."
