We are pleased to invite you to the International Conference for Sustainable Design of the Built Environment (SDBE) in London on 20 and 21 December 2017. The SDBE conference is a unique opportunity for academics, researchers, architects, urban designers, engineers, building consultants and professionals to meet and share the latest knowledge, research and innovations on low-carbon building design, building performance, simulation tools and energy-efficient building-related technologies.

The conference focuses on sustainable design, building energy performance, sustainable planning of neighbourhoods and cities, emphasising a balanced approach to environmental, socio-economic and technical aspects of sustainability. The topics extend to include innovative approaches for education and training on sustainability of the built environment. The conference will raise awareness concerning state-of-the-art strategies and best practice across the world of integrating sustainable development approaches in the built environment.

The conference will include keynote speakers and technical workshops to promote the knowledge exchange on the conference themes. The conference themes include a range of forums covering sustainable design and operation within the built environment which aim to ultimately improve the quality of life, health and well-being whilst mitigating the impact of the built environment on carbon emissions.

Call for Full Papers
The full papers should be submitted by 15 August 2017. The paper should follow the conference paper template (maximum of 12 A4 pages). The papers will be peer-reviewed and will be recommended for publication in prestigious journals.

  • Notification of acceptance: 14 August 2017
  • Full paper submission deadline: 2 October 2017
  • Notification of acceptance: 23 October 2017
  • Deadline for full paper submission: 20 November 2017
  • Free conference registration for all selected papers funded by the British Council: 30 November 2017
  • Conference dates: 20 and 21 December 2017
