Join us at our Annual School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering Alumni Event,  Guest Speaker, Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, Thursday 16th March 2017, 5:30pm, Main Lecture Theater Docklands Campus

The School of Architecture, Engineering and Computing (ACE) and the Alumni team are pleased to invite you to a lecture by Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, our recently appointed visiting Professor and the President & Chief Executive of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering on Thursday 16 March 2017.  This is a great opportunity to learn about developments in the construction and built environment industry and for networking as well.

Location: Docklands Campus, Main Lecture Theatre (Library Building)
Time: 5:30pm registration for a 6pm start

The event is free of charge, but spaces are limited so reserve your seat today by sending your RSVP to alumni@uel.ac.uk no later than Monday 13th March.

A light buffet and networking session will take place after the lecture.

GUEST SPEAKER: Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE

Nelson Ogunshakin is the President & Chief Executive of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) and is the Chairman of Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) since 2013. He is a civil engineer and specialist infrastructure procurement expert, a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineering, with over 30 years of extensive construction and built environment industry expertise. He graduated in 1985 with a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Aston University and since then obtained a Master’s degree in Construction & Programme Management from the University of Birmingham. In 1994 he completed an MBA at Aston Business School. In 2011 he received an Honorary DSc from Aston University, recognising his outstanding services to construction and engineering, both in the UK and abroad.
 
Today Nelson holds a number of executive and non-executive board positions. He is also a Member of the London Infrastructure Delivery Board (LIDB), Chair of Investment Committee of ARM-Harith Infrastructure Funds, and has been recently appointed to Transport for London (TfL) board by London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
 
He was awarded an OBE in 2010 for services to the UK and the international construction and engineering industry.
