Dr Sodip Roy is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Bangladesh Open University, Bangladesh. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary.
He studied at the University of Dhaka, Durham University in the UK, and the University of Nottingham Malaysia. He is a former Visiting Graduate Research Fellow at the Centre for Refugee Studies (CRS), York University, Canada.
His research focuses on refugee and forced migration, with reference to the Rohingya refugee crisis in South and Southeast Asia. His doctoral project investigates the link between the agency of Rohingya refugees and refugee camp governmentality in Bangladesh.
His academic work has been published nationally and internationally as journal articles, book chapters and research reports. He is a member of different professional bodies on forced migration and humanitarian studies.
Sodip aims to support the development of forced migration study and research in Bangladesh.
