What we offer
We believe that creating links with primary schools can inspire children from a young age to be curious about learning. We offer children a chance to explore, experience and develop an interest in education.
The Schools and Colleges Team works with UEL’s Cass School of Education and Communities, collaborating with our Academic School to provide a great experience for children across a range of activities, including art competitions, treasure hunts and reading support.
Available from year three to year six, sessions are usually delivered on UEL campus and last about four hours. They include a tour and an interactive workshop. Groups are usually limited to 30 children.
It's an opportunity to take part in a fact finding tour of a UEL campus and learn and discover through an interactive session linked to the curriculum. Our workshops are based on subjects studied in school; please contact one of our team for more details.
Our mentoring programme recruits and trains current UEL students to work alongside teachers delivering the literacy framework, reading with young children in the class room. All our mentors are trained and Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checked.
Year 6 transition workshops
Moving to secondary school can be daunting for some children. UEL runs an interactive session for year six children, which can be delivered on UEL site or school premises. We offer a choice of workshops focusing on managing relationships, and understanding the differences between primary and secondary education.
