Justine has delivered and managed education and employer programmes for over 20 years, ranging from skills, training and social mobility projects for young people through to adults in and around east London. Since November 2016, as Partnership Manager at UEL, Justine is responsible for developing the outreach offer to our partner schools and colleges to meet the needs of young people in the area and to build internal and external partnerships to support the widening participation agenda for the university.
With extensive experience of creating and delivery aspirational and attainment programmes, Justine is keen to open education access to all young people, irrespective of background. Lauren Hedges – Lead Partnership Officer
Lauren in responsible for post 16 delivery and working with pre-entry students with disabilities, those who are care-experienced or looked after and estranged students. In my spare time I love to travel!’
Sophia Mousouslides – Lead Partnership Officer
Sophia is responsible for secondary school outreach and post 16 programmes and delivering the Curriculum Ambassadors Programme with UEL students.
Tariq Patel – Lead Partnership Officer
passionate about equality and volunteering and has gained his experience
through working on projects in China, Nepal and Brussels as well as the UK.
Having gained a first class honours degree in International Tourism Management BA
Hons from the University of Central Lancashire, Tariq has gone on to work and volunteer
with Refugee Action, ITV Granada News Diversity Panel and Preston and Western
Lancashire Racial Equality Council and ITV Granada news before moving into
Tariq is responsible for outreach into secondary schools, coordinating and delivering activities to support students to make informed decisions about progression to HE and delivering the Curriculum Ambassadors Programme with UEL students.
Charlotte Thwaites – Lead Partnership Officer
been working with UEL in widening participation for two years, having
previously been a student ambassador whilst studying at UEL where she
successfully gained a BA Hons in Photography. Having come from a widening
participation background, Charlotte has firsthand understanding of the barriers
young people can face to progress to higher education.
Charlotte is responsible for outreach with primary age students and delivering outreach to all age groups with external charities such as Debate Mate and IntoUni.
Jervine Young – Lead Partnership Officer
completed her degree in Women Studies, New Technology and Black Literature at
UEL in 1993 and has worked for the university since 1998. Jervine joined the Education and Community
Partnership Schools and Colleges team in 2004; working on the Student Associate
Scheme and later with responsibility for Aimhigher Sport Associates.
Jervine is responsible for Post-16 delivery with colleges and has continued responsibility for the Student Ambassador Scheme.
