The Made in UEL project provided local primary and secondary schools with UEL-made, interactive 3D models which realistically demonstrated scientific and technological principles.  The models stimulated and provided understanding of fundamental scientific theories through action-reaction, game-based logic.

UEL students helped conduct outreach activities to schools, demonstrating the interactive operation of the Made in UEL models and giving school students a positive experience of science and engineering.

The 3D models were based on a specification created by UEL’s Health, Sport and Bioscience (HSB) staff, and designed and implemented by UEL’s product design and electronic engineering students.

Staff and students from HSB and the School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering (ACE) will continue to work together with the University’s Education and Community Partnership team to help school pupils build their confidence in studying science and pursuing STEMM-based (Science, Technology, Mathematics and Medicine) careers.

“The models will be used for outreach activities at local schools and colleges aimed at helping generate interest and enthuse school children in pharmacology, science and engineering in general,” said Samir Ayoub, Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and Pharmacology Programme Leader.
