How to apply through Clearing

From 2 July 2026, you can apply through Clearing online or by calling our Clearing centre on 020 7365 6240.
If you’re applying through UCAS, add us as your Clearing choice in UCAS Hub using the link in your offer email (or log in directly).
If you’re not using UCAS, complete the acceptance form in your offer email. You’ll then be asked to upload your qualifications to our Applicant Portal within 48 hours, even if you’ve already submitted them.
You're in! Once your offer is accepted, we’ll email your enrolment and course induction details.
Once your Clearing offer is confirmed, you can apply for on-campus accommodation through our accommodation portal, or explore our off-campus housing.
Planning to use a student loan to fund your studies? Apply for Student Finance England as early as possible to make sure your funding is ready before the start of your course.
What is Clearing?
UCAS Clearing is an opportunity to apply for courses with available places at a UK university. In 2026, applications open from 2 July.
If you are new to UCAS or applying to university for the first time, you can still apply. We accept applications from UK residents and international students based in the UK.

What is Clearing?
Clearing is an opportunity to secure a place at a UK university. It runs every year from July to September.
If you apply late, change your mind or miss out on the requirements of a conditional offer, going through Clearing provides another way to get on to a course and start your academic journey.
Students who come to University of East London through Clearing have gone on to achieve first-class grades and inspirational careers.
Who can apply through Clearing?
If any of these scenarios apply to you, then you're eligible for Clearing:
- You want a place at a university in September but haven't applied yet
- You didn't receive any offers for a course from a university
- You've changed your mind about your course or university
- Your predicted grades didn't go as expected and you haven’t been accepted by your university of choice
- You're applying for the first time after 30 June
- You've declined your firm place

What is Clearing Plus?
Clearing Plus is a new system where UCAS will match applicants who haven't accepted any offers or have released themselves through Clearing to similar courses they have applied for in the main cycle.
The UCAS Clearing Plus tool allows you to be matched to appropriate courses that you are interested in at universities that still have availability.
When can I apply through Clearing?
If you have your results, you can apply through Clearing from July 2026. Call us on 020 7365 6240, apply online or visit our University Square Stratford campus to apply in person.
I am not in UCAS. Can I still apply?
Absolutely! We welcome applications from students who have not registered with UCAS. Find out more about how to apply through Clearing without UCAS.
What is an informal offer?
You may receive an informal offer during your phone call with one of our advisors when you contact us to apply. When you add this as your choice via UCAS and it has been processed, it becomes a confirmed offer.
