UCAS Clearing 2025: why choose a Visual Arts degree at UEL in Clearing?
All of our Visual Arts bachelor degrees share three things in common:
- Learning by doing.
- Learning by problem-solving.
- Learning by exploring.
These three skills are essential when equipping you with the skills for industry.
Apply for visual arts Clearing courses at a university that brings together studio-based disciplines and prepares you for the competitive job market. Our workshops support your learning by providing specialist training in areas such as casting, welding and metalwork for sculpture and model making, a wood workshop, photographic darkrooms and 16mm film and moving image studios for video and photography-based work.
Looking for more? A traditional printmaking workshop supports the production of screenprinting, litho and etching. On top of that, the school runs an equipment store that allows students to borrow high-end digital stills and video cameras and lenses, professional lighting, sound recording and AV equipment. Computing facilities combine Mac and PC labs with digital large-format printing and 3D printing, alongside laser cutters.
Graphic Design at University of East London
What is a Visual Arts degree?
Our main research activities on our Visual Arts degrees focus on sculpture and installation and the composition of visual arts. You will look at independent artists' film and video, and visual culture - engaging with cultural politics and identity.
You may choose to study Graphic Design, Photography, Illustration, Animation or Fine Art.
We've maintained an international reputation for artistic innovation and research excellence, largely through the continued output of our established world-leading practitioners in sculpture and installation, and through our research in independent artists' film.
Students on our Visual Arts courses have won or been nominated in many competitions such as The Times Big Picture photographic award, the Hix art award and the Jerwood Drawing Prize.
Plus, you’ll have access to the University library, which is open 24/7 during term time, and its facilities include computers, photocopiers and printers. Students will also have access to a Subject Librarian, whose role is to help students find suitable research materials and other resources for use in essays, assignments and projects.
