UCAS Clearing 2025: why choose a sport science clearing degree at UEL?
Our sports science department is consistently ranked amongst the top three universities for sport in London – with sports scholars including Olympians and senior internationals, who represent the University of East London at national and international university competitions.
Our sports science courses are the choice of some of the UK's most exciting young sports stars, including Adam Gemili who won gold in the 4 x 100m relay at the 2017 World Championships, world-class swimmer Aimee Willmott and European Cruiserweight boxing champion Lawrence Okolie.
Brenda - Sport - University of East London
“University of East London makes sure I'm on top of my studies” Brenda describes how she combines academic studies alongside sports.
Brenda studies on a sport science course delivered in partnership with the West Ham United Foundation. We are the most ambitious and the most improved university in the UK for sport.
Why choose UEL for a sport science clearing course?
You’ll have access to a range of student-led and teacher-led initiatives to support your sport science studies and beyond. Our SMILES project across all our sport science courses allows those in their final year to peer mentor their fellow students in earlier years of study, providing first-class support and guidance. Our staff will also help you find a sport science placement that suits you and fits in with your studies and other commitments.
If you choose one of our sport science clearing courses you will spend your time at SportsDock, located on our Docklands Campus. SportsDock is UEL’s home for Sport Science, Exercise and Wellbeing. Opened in 2011, the £21 million facility was the training base for TeamUSA in the lead-up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Since then, we've also hosted sports teams and organisations both professional and amateur, as well as competitions on a local and global scale. Our Docklands campus houses four state-of-the-art sport science labs and clinics with industry-standard equipment.
