Kayleigh Isobel Gibson - Coaching and Mentoring Manager (Stratford)

Kayleigh ensures UEL students and graduates are provided with dynamic, innovative, high quality careers support and information as well as providing opportunities to further enhance student employability through mentoring activities. Kayleigh leads the Stratford team of professional Career Coaches, providing effective careers and employability support through one to one sessions, workshops, online tools/resources and e-guidance. Kayleigh is also responsible for professional, community and peer to peer mentoring schemes. Kayleigh has worked in HE for over 8 years, managing and implementing mentoring provisions, student voice representation and engagement related projects, and delivering activities that develop student confidence, transferable skills and employability.

Raksha Mehta - Coaching and Mentoring Manager 

Raksha’s role is to manage, deliver and develop an institution wide mentoring offer that provides students from all disciplines the opportunity to develop and enhance employability skills in preparation for graduate level employment. Raksha also leads and manages a team of careers coaches ensuring students and graduates receive effective careers information, advice and guidance via one-to-one sessions, e-guidance, workshops, talks and events. A professionally qualified practitioner in careers guidance, training and a Solicitor with over 13 years’ experience within the higher education sector. Raksha enjoys building a robust offer that supports retention, progression and graduate level employment outcomes.

Stephanie Pemberton - Career Coach

Completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance at UEL. Offer twelve years’ experience of helping individuals with career planning and preparation for employment. Work collaboratively with all types of employers from SME to Bluechip and other external partners to shape the service. Ran a successful IT Consultancy. Gained a History degree at Kings College. Left school with 1 qualification several years earlier. Completed A levels through distance learning. Began earlier IAG Advice career as a volunteer, promoted to Sessional Worker and eventually gained full time employment. Love working with the diverse range of students here and learn a lot from you.

Nadine Lewis - Career Coach 

Nadine joined UEL in March 2015 and completed her career guidance qualifications in 2014. She has ten years’ experience working in diverse education and community settings. Nadine adopts various career-counselling theories and models in her one-to-ones and workshops. She has successfully coordinated a number of projects and brought in employers from various sectors to promote graduate, mentoring and volunteering opportunities. With an interest in wider employability issues, Nadine is keen to raise students’ aspirations and achieve positive outcomes through a range of interventions. She was nominated for Best Support Staff as part of the Student Led Teaching Awards 2016 and 2017.

Andrea Popeau-Thomas - Career Coach

Andrea has been a careers coach since 2008, starting her career in the Welfare to Work. Andrea faced many challenges in helping the long term unemployed get back into work, after 2 years of doing this she went to work for Barking and Dagenham Council managing their Barking Job Shop. Wanting to work in Higher Education seemed a natural transition, in January 2014 Andrea began working with UEL as a careers consultant and is now the link for the Business School with in-depth knowledge of the financial and banking sector.
