Basketball

East London Basketball Club has gone from strength to strength over the years, with now 4 Men’s teams and 2 Women’s teams competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and cups every Wednesday. Having become one of East London’s focus sports, more and more students are choosing to study and play basketball with us.

The Basketball programme at East London has been created to ensure success on and off the court through great team spirit, work ethic and developing talent alongside a fantastic group of coaches. Besides competitive opportunities, we also run a Basketball Move East London Session every Friday, which is a fun and free session for all students to take part in. It is a great way to still integrate yourself within the basketball community without that competitive element each week.

Even if you’re not a dedicated player but have a passion for the game and want to get involved, the Basketball Club is always looking for people to officiate, write match reports, assist in creating a media presence and act as committee members to help develop the club.

Basketball is one of East London Sport’s High-Performance Programmes. A range of scholarships are available for 1st team players which includes bursaries, a diverse support package, exclusive kit and access to our private performance facility Aqua East.
