The Competition is a partnership between University of East London Enterprise and the Haberdashers' Livery Company aimed to give businesses owned by UEL students and graduates a financial boost to encourage growth.

Haberdashers' Competition is a partnership between University of East London Enterprise and the Haberdashers' Livery Company. The competition awards grants and support to commercial businesses of UEL students and graduates to help them grow. Businesses that are successful in the selection process are invited to a series of workshops on a wide range of topics including Intellectual Property and Finance.
The Haberdashers' competition is open to businesses owned by a UEL student or graduate (graduated 2013 or later), and is at least one of the following:
- Registered with HMRC
- A limited company registered with Companies House
- Have commenced trading with a business bank account
Who are Haberdashers'
The Haberdashers' Company has been running schools for over 400 years and today help to educate 12,000 children across their 18 schools. On top of this, they help other students through bursaries and grants. UEL's partnership with Haberdashers stretches back multiple years and has awarded over 100 students and alumni with business funding.

OOZE Drinks is fighting against food waste by creating delicious sustainable drinks. They source misshapen fruit and vegetables which are overlooked by retailers and blend them into mouth-watering drinks. Their products contain no preservatives or additives, just 100% fruit.
OOZE Drinks started its humble beginnings in a small town on the border of London by a group of friends whose ambition was to change the world for the better. After realising the injustice of the global food system and a common passion for sustainability, they decided to step up and fight against food waste.
BSc Sports Therapy Graduate
Elite Injuries clinic is a professional and friendly establishment specialising in musculoskeletal injuries and pain management. Typical injuries treated are back and neck pain, joint pain and injury, sporting acute, overuse and repetitive strain injuries. They also provide post-operative and injury rehabilitation programmes.
Their clients range from professional athletes to non-exercising individuals. Through the process of assessment and evaluation, Elite Injuries are able to diagnose symptoms and give effective treatments with a wide range of services to best suit the individual.
Dara Greaney, Business Partner
Pixel8 Media are a mixed multimedia business that provide a range of media services to the corporate market. Pixel8 currently provide on-site video recording to a number of business sectors, this includes internal corporate information videos to filming conferences and events.
In the future, they plan to expand their offering to include more advanced production techniques including motion capture and 3D rendering.
Nabil Shabbir - MSc Psychology Graduate
Chai Life is an upcycled tea, coffee and dessert parlour located in Peterborough. Their menu includes milkshakes, panini and waffles which are all well received by their target customers of 16-40 year olds. They allow local artists to display their works for free within their establishment.
Chai Life also hosts various charity initiatives including feeding the homeless and working with less privileged communities at home and around the world.
The Autonomous Collection
Kim Stevenson - BA Fashion Design Graduate
The Autonomous Collections takes an ethical approach to fabrication and design and offers a bold aesthetic that is wearable and considered.
Kim founded her business with a clear and thoughtful ideal in mind inspired by her experiences of extreme weather and global warming growing up in her native city Geelong, Australia.
Since graduating she has gone on to win awards such as Fashion Scout’s One to Watch award and has presented her collection at London Fashion Week.
